Middlefield Primary Academy

BACKGROUND

Middlefield Primary Academy is a primary education school in Cambridgeshire.

Flick Energy Solutions were approached by Surveyors of Education (S2E) as Middlefield Primary had expressed concerns about growing energy levels and the constant need for the school caretaker to change the lights. Their time was constantly taken up with repairs, instead they decided to install new lighting altogether.

SOLUTION

Middlefield Primary was awarded funding as part of the Phase 1 Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). The funding, provided by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and delivered by Salix Finance, enabled us to install a total of 221 high quality LED Lights. This primarily consisted of linear batten and robust general purpose amenity luminaires with additional emergency features.

RESULTS

“The project ran very smoothly. We couldn’t believe the difference the new lighting had made to the school. All areas were cleaned, and any snags were dealt with efficiently. We now feel that we have moved into the 21st century! Thank you to everyone involved, especially James who was a pleasure to work with.”
